About Alice
I am a Councillor at Large, a music teacher, and an active, involved community member here in Salem. I have lived in Massachusetts with my husband and daughter for over 25 years and made Salem my home in 2011.
I attended Salter College for business and worked as an office manager in New York City before moving to Massachusetts and eventually starting my own successful business as a music teacher. Additionally, I am a board member of the Salem Education Foundation and the Woman's Friend Society. I am a member of Historic Salem Inc and was previously a guide at the House of Seven Gables. I am passionate about serving my community through my extensive volunteer work with the Salem Food Pantry and the Mack Park Food Farm to address food insecurity, Community Life Center events for our older adults, Woman's Friend Society providing affordable housing, the Salem Education Foundation, neighborhood associations and clean ups, and other organizations. I was a volunteer for Salem's Yes on One campaign in support of an ordinance of protection for our immigrant community, and am a supporter of organizations such as NAGLY, Salem Human Rights Coalition, and Salem Alliance for the Environment. On the state level I have advocated for Automatic Voter Registration, Healthy Youth Act, the MA Commission on the Status of Women Advocacy Days, and am a supporter of the MA Women's Political Caucus. I was a volunteer and speaker for the Yes on Three campaign to protect our transgender community members. I have also volunteered for Common Cause Massachusetts, an organization dedicated to integrity in elections and transparency in government.
I so appreciate the opportunity being on our City Council has given me to bring my passion for community and public service to this office and represent our residents on Salem's City Council!
