I am a teacher, a homeowner, and an active, involved community member. I have lived in Massachusetts with my husband and daughter for over 25 years and made Salem my home in 2011.
I attended Salter College for business and worked as an office manager in New York City before starting my own successful business as a music teacher. I currently teach for a family-owned business in Marblehead, and I am a sales representative for a family owned printing company in Peabody. Additionally, I am a board member of the Salem Education Foundation and the Woman's Friend Society. I am a member of Historic Salem Inc and was previously a guide at the House of Seven Gables
I am passionate about serving my community through my extensive volunteer work with the Salem Food Pantry which has increased services substantially since the beginning of the Covid crisis. I was a volunteer for the Salem Together program making wellness calls to our seniors and the Mack Park Food Farm providing free produce to our community, and I also volunteer for the Backpack Program for Salem school children in need and The Community Life Center events (both on hold with Covid), neighborhood clean ups, and the Historic Salem Annual House Tours. I was a volunteer for Salem's Yes on One campaign in support of an ordinance of protection for our immigrant community, and am a supporter of organizations such as Salem's No Place for Hate, nAGLY, and the Sierra Club. On the state level I have advocated for Automatic Voter Registration, One Fair Wage Act, Healthy Youth Act, the MA Commission on the Status of Women Advocacy Days, and am a supporter of the MA Women's Political Caucus. I was a volunteer and speaker for the Yes on Three campaign to protect our transgender community members. I have also volunteered for Common Cause Massachusetts, an organization dedicated to integrity in elections and transparency in government.
I am excited to earn the opportunity to bring my passion for community and public service to this office and represent our community members on Salem's City Council!
